Dr. Miranda Meehan will be discussing the importance of riparian ecological site descriptions and state-and-transition models. Specifically, her work on the middle Sheyenne River and agency efforts on Magpie Creek, which are the only riparian ecological site description efforts within North Dakota. Riparian ecosystems are dynamic and this is reflected in the processes involved in the development of riparian ESDs. Management plays a critical role in riparian ecosystem dynamics, driving transitions between community phases and states. Within rangeland ecosystems grazing management influences the ecologic functioning of riparian ecosystems.
Bring your lunch and enjoy this Range Forum at the Ducks Unlimited Conference Room. It has been awhile since a Range Forum has been held in this very nice facility.
