Annex Conf. Rm. (now known as the Bridge)
Mandan, ND
One of the purposes of the Range
Forum was to provide "... a way to meet people in
grassland management and to find out what others are doing. Keeping up with the
latest research and knowing what others are doing is invaluable both to building
individual
careers and for fostering understanding." This Forum is
central to the concept that knowing about ongoing research before we read about
it in the journals fosters better research and also opportunities for
collaboration. In return, the research scientists have a chance to find
out
from the "front line" managers what the current issues and concerns might be.
Managers might include agency personal, ranchers,
farmers or people who are interested and concerned about the future of our
rangelands.
The Rangeland Research Pipeline will give people an opportunity to meet and see what is "in the Research Pipeline".
The goals of this symposium are to:
1) Share research currently being conducted in the northern Great Plains. This is not research results but rather a reporting of what is being done.
2) Develop research collaborations both between research groups and between research groups and land management agencies and/or special interest groups (TNC, DU etc).
3) Gathering information regarding what management agencies and other see as the most pressing research needs in the northern Great Plains.
Check this site for updates and an agenda as we get closer to the symposium.
